Caption

Reva software. Personal digital assistant (PDA) displaying software for use with a Reva electric car. The 'portable electronic tool' is used by engineers working on the car. It may also be used by car owners to find out how long it will take to charge the car, or the distance that can be travelled on a particular charge. Reva, India's first electric car, was launched in 2001 in Bangalore in southern India. A fully charged battery gives a driving range of 80 kilometres. Electric cars may be increasingly important in the future as the world's oil reserves become depleted. In addition, electric cars do not pollute the environment with exhaust fumes.
