Fuel cell scooter research. Aprilia fuel cell scooter running on a roller test bench during testing. The scooter has its front wheel clamped and its rear wheel (which powers it) on rollers. This allows researchers to find out how far the scooter can travel under various conditions, and also to study the effect of wear and tear from use. The fuel cell is environmentally friendly as it runs on hydrogen, combining it with oxygen in the air to produce electricity, with water as the only waste product. Photographed in Italy.
