Flight simulator. This is a Boeing 777 simulator used to train pilots on that aircraft. The simulator is mounted on six hydraulic legs, which allow it a wide range of movements. The interior is an accurate model of the cockpit of the airliner. The controls are linked to a computer that provides realistic graphics and movements depending on the pilots' actions. Pilots train on machines such as this to familiarise themselves with the controls before they are allowed to fly a real plane. A wide variety of problems can also be simulated, allowing the pilots to learn how to handle emergencies in a safe and controlled environment.
