Marine archaeology. Inside of a manned submersible (Comex's Remora 2000) that has discovered ancient amphoras lying on the seabed. Powerful searchlights (centre left, centre right) light up the area in front of the vessel. The screen at upper right displays details of the dive (depth of 103 metres), while the screen at lower centre shows a close-up of the amphoras. At upper right is a remotely-operated submersible (a Comex Super Achille). Amphoras are a type of jug widely used in the ancient world to hold wine and oils. These ones are from a 1st century BC wreck in the Mediterranean Sea.
