Newtsuit rescue diver, from the French Navy, standing in a diving cage. The diving cage is attached to a crane that is about to lower it into the water. The Newtsuit is an atmospheric diving suit (ADS) that can descend to depths of over 250 metres while keeping the diver at atmospheric pressure. A thruster backpack is used to move around. Fluid-filled flexible joints (black) provide great dexterity. The suit can be used for a wide range of underwater work, such as salvage and aiding submarine rescue. Photographed in the Mediterranean Sea.
