Commercial diver with a hydraulic brush device for underwater cleaning. Cables from the surface are supplying electrical power for the lights and the brush. Other cables allow communication with the surface. The diver is using a helmet connected to an air supply on his back. The mouthpiece is seen below the viewing plate in the helmet. Underwater structures are cleaned to remove algae, barnacles, corals, sponges, and other underwater organisms. The cleaning process also removes and prevents corrosion. Photographed at the National Institute of Professional Diving (INPP), Marseilles, France.
