Caption

Freshly caught cod (Gadus sp.) being unloaded at a fishing port. The fish are kept in crates with ice to maintain their freshness during the journey to market. Cod is a popular food fish and is the source of cod liver oil, which is rich in vitamins A and D. There are several different types of cod that mainly live in cold northern seas, such as the Atlantic Ocean around Greenland and the Newfoundland coast of Canada.
