Salmon fishing. Fisherman hauling in a catch of salmon from a coastal river trap at low tide. The sea is seen in the background. This is the Reidovaya River, on Iturup Island, which itself lies off the large island of Sakhalin in Russia's Far East. Sakhalin's dense river network supports a large number of migrating salmon arriving from the Pacific Ocean to breed. Photographed on 26 October 2005.
