Cement warehouse. Time exposure image of a fork-lift truck carrying bags of cement powder in a warehouse. Cement is a finely-powdered substance which hardens and adheres after being mixed with water. This warehouse stores Portland cement, one of the commonest types of cement. Portland cement is made by mixing clay and lime, and then burning the mixture in a kiln. A variety of different products can be made by adding different materials to the cement, for example, gravel or sand is added to make concrete.
