Timber mill sawing machine. Worker placing uncut wooden planks on a sawing machine in a timber mill. The machine moves the uncut planks on a conveyor belt, milling them into shape to produce newly-cut planks like the ones seen in the foreground. This mill uses wood from spruce trees. This is the Svir Timber sawmill in Podporozhye, in Russia's Leningrad region. It is a subsidiary of the Finnish company Metsa-Botnia. This timber mill opened in early 2006. Photographed in 2006.
