Steel production. Man quenching steel in a steelworks. This is the process by which steel at a temperature of 920 degrees Celsius is plunged into cold water or oil, in order to strengthen it. Steel is a mixture (alloy) of iron and small amounts of carbon. The steelworker is wearing protective clothing, gloves and a visor.
