Steel works. Molten iron being carried in torpedo ladle cars (bottom right and bottom left) at a steel works. The molten iron has come from a blast furnace, which extracts pig iron from iron ore, and is being transported to a basic oxygen furnace for conversion into steel. The torpedo ladle car is lined with thick ceramic bricks, which retain the metal's heat and maintain its molten state during transport. Photographed at the Mittal Steel USA plant in Indiana Harbour, Indiana, USA.
