A handfull of glass awaiting recycling being inspected by a quality control engineer. This glass is recycled at a plant in Dayville, USA, which processes approximately 4,000 tonnes of glass per month. Glass containers received at the plant are sorted into flint, amber and green glass before they are cleaned and crushed. The resulting glass chippings are then fed into a furnace, and moulded into new bottles.
