Aluminium recycling. Aluminium drinks can collection point where the public can deposit empty cans for recycling. Aluminium is widely used, particularly in drinks cans, as it is a light metal, easy to mould and resistant to corrosion. It is an expensive metal to mine because it is difficult to chemically separate the aluminium from its ore (bauxite). Recycling used cans reduces industry's energy demands and cuts costs, as well as minimizing damage to the environment.
