Recycling waste metal. Washing machine drums awaiting processing at a metal recycling centre. The drums will be turned into piles of metal ribbons using a metal shredder. The shredding makes it easier to sort and process the metal. A large shredder can process several tons of metal in just a few seconds. The shredded metal will be transported to a furnace to be melted down and used to make new metal products. For a pile of shredded metal, see T820/430.
