Pipe bursting. Engineers replacing an old water pipe with a new pipe using a technique called pipe bursting. This allows the size of a pipe to be made larger without excavating the entire pipe. Instead the existing pipeline is shattered and replaced when the new pipe is dragged through it. Photographed in Northumbria, England, UK.
