Shattered windscreen. Computer-enhanced glass of a shattered car windscreen. This windscreen is made of laminated glass, a process of layering the glass with a transparent polymer. Lamination holds the broken fragments together (as seen here) when the glass is shattered, as well as strengthening the windscreen. In many countries, laminated glass has almost completely eliminated the injuries from flying glass in car accidents.
