Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. On completion in early 1996, this skyscraper became the world's tallest building. The Petronas Towers have 88 storeys and are 452 metres tall including the 73.8 metre spires at their top. Work has already begun in Shanghai, China, on a building which is due to be higher than the Petronas Towers when it is completed in 2001.
