Ice Hotel. Visitors relaxing in ice chairs beside an ice fireplace in the Ice Hotel, a hotel made entirely from snow and ice. It is the world's largest igloo, and lies within the Arctic Circle in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden. It is built every winter by spraying 30,000 tonnes of snow onto moulds which are removed once the snow has compacted. The hotel sleeps over 100 guests on ice beds covered in ani- mal pelts. Visitors remain warm in their sleeping bags despite temperatures that reach -9 degrees Celsius. Guests can visit the ice exhibition hall, sauna, cinema or chapel, as well as drink from ice glasses in the ice bar. The hotel melts every May.
