London Eye, formerly known as the Millennium Wheel, London, England. At 135 metres, this is the tallest observational, or Ferris, wheel in the world. Opened in 2000, 32 continually- rotating observation pods can each carry 25 people on the 30 minute trip. The view from the top of this 1600 tonne structure can be over 40 km. The London Eye was designed by David Marks and Julia Barfield, and is sponsored by British Airways.
