Taj Mahal. Located in Agra, India, this building is a giant mausoleum built on the orders of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his dead wife. It was built between 1632 and 1648. The main building material was marble, though the decorations include a wealth of precious stones. The Taj Mahal was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
