Chemical factory. Twilight view of the pipes and towers of a chemical plant which manufactures coal tar and its derivatives. Coal tar is the product obtained from the anaerobic carbonization of coal. The products obtained are mostly aromatic compounds (those containing benzene rings), including benzene, naphthalene and anthracene. They are used in a variety of products including shampoos, soaps, pitches and bitumens.
