Chemistry equipment. Reflux equipment is at left. Reactants are mixed in the round-bottomed flask (lower left). Above this is a condenser, which cools escaping gases which have boiled off, and allows them to drop back into the reaction vessel, maintaining the reaction. At right is a Buchner flask, used for filtering solids from liquids under pressure. The orange liquid has been drawn through the funnel by evacuating air through the tube to its right. At centre is a filtration column, in which the white solid packing removes impurities and allows the liquid component to be collected through the tap at lower centre.
