Etched laboratory glassware. Measuring cylinder, pipette tubes and a chemical bottle to demonstrate the technique of glass etching. Etching is a form of engraving, which uses acid to create patterns on glass. The graduated markings and labels on this chemistry apparatus were created by using hydrogen fluoride (hydrofluoric acid).
