Water still in a laboratory. The still is used for producing distilled water for use in experiments. Water in the main tank is heated by an element (brown, lower centre). Water vapour released rises into the top chamber where it is cooled by coiled pipes with cold water running through them. As the vapour cools it condenses and is collected. The distilled water is free from impurities and minerals.
