Drug manufacture. A technician peers through the window of a fluid bed dryer in a pharmaceutical production plant. The powdered white drug can be seen at the bottom. The fluid bed dryer uses a stream of hot air to dry a drug completely while ensuring that no clumping occurs between grains. The drug can then be loaded into capsules or mixed with a base and pressed into tablets.
