Cheese manufacture. Machine (at upper right) packing cheese in plastic bags on a production line. The packets are being carried away from the packing machine on a conveyor belt. Cheese is made by separating the solid part of milk, or curd, from the liquid part, or whey. Bacteria and enzymes are used to curdle the milk. The curd is then drained, moulded and matured before being packaged for distribution and sale.
