Bread production line. Workers watching portions of dough being carried around a bread bakery on conveyor belts. Dough is a mixture of flour, water or milk and usually some sugar, salt and fat. If light, porous, leavened bread is to be made, then yeast or baking powder is added as well. These produce carbon dioxide gas which causes tiny bubbles to appear in the dough mixture. The dough is baked into bread, inspected, packaged and then distributed to customers.
