Chicken inspection. Agricultural engineer from the US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service working on developing an automatic scanning system for inspecting chicken carcasses. Cameras, along with near-infrared and visible light scans will be positioned along the inspection line and linked to a computer, which will identify defects and disease and direct the imperfect chickens to a separate production line. The computer compares images of the chickens as viewed through a red and green filter. Here, the engineer is placing a green filter on a camera lens.
