Bomb disposal. Robot water cannon being used for bomb disposal. The cannon fires water from a nozzle (upper centre) with such velocity and precision that it can safely destroy a car bomb. The water cannon is mounted on a robot which moves over difficult terrain using caterpillar tracks (centre). The robot is fitted with two cameras (upper left & right) which transmit eight pictures per second to an operator. These pictures allow the operator to see into the car and locate the bomb from a safe distance. Once the bomb is located it can be safely destroyed. Photographed at Pyrotechnique Saint-Nicolas, France.
