Bomb disposal. Robot water cannon being used for bomb disposal. The cannon (upper left) fires water from a nozzle with such velocity and precision that it can safely destroy a car bomb. The water cannon is mounted on a robot which moves over difficult terrain using caterpillar tracks (centre). The robot is fitted with two cameras (above caterpillar tracks) which transmit eight pictures per second to an operator. These pictures allow the operator to see into the car and locate the bomb from a safe distance. Once the bomb is located it can be safely destroyed. Photographed at Pyrotechnique Saint-Nicolas, France.
