Eye scanning. Conceptual computer artwork of a human eye, electronic circuitry and binary digits (zeros and ones), representing the use of iris and retina information for identification. The drawings show the form of the iris of an eye and the pattern of capillaries on the retina, both of which can be used as unique identifying features of an individual. The data is encoded as binary digits by computer, which can recognise the individual if the eye has been previously scanned. Such technology may be used to verify a person's identity for access to a building or bank account, or in conjunction with a passport or identity card.
