Biometric scanning. Computer artwork of horizontal coloured lines scanning a human head. Data on the shape of the head could be stored in a database or compared to existing data, and used to identify people, a process called biometric identification. Other forms of biometrics include eye scans and the use of fingerprints. Zeros and ones (at right) are the digits of the binary code used to store data on computers.
