Russky Vityaz, Russian biplane. This multi-engined aeroplane, the first 4-engine plane in the world, was built in 1913 by the Russian aviation engineer Igor Sikorsky (1889-1972). It had a wingspan on 27 metres, and a length of 20 metres. It was able to carry more than 4000 kilograms of weight, smashing the previous record of 600 kilograms.
