Mobile acoustics laboratory. This mobile laboratory was developed by the National Physical Laboratory soon after the Second World War and was the first of its kind in the UK. It was used to measure the noise from jet engine test cells and investigate how to reduce noise in new post-war factories. Photographed in the UK in the late 1940s.
