The North Pole (right) and the Sun (left) are raising their glasses to the failure of both Dr. Fridtjof Nansen's (1861-1930) expedition to the North Pole and Sir Robert Ball's (1840-1913) mission to view the solar eclipse that occurred on 9th August 1896.
