Beekeeping: beekeeper in full protective clothing removes a brood frame from a bee hive. Brood frames slot into the brood chamber where the queen bee, tended by worker bees, lays her eggs. Just visible at the right of the image is a metal frame called a queen excluder. The holes in the frame are too small for the queen bee to crawl through into the level above where the super frames containing honey are kept. The excluder prevents the queen laying eggs in the wrong part of the hive.
