Bee. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the head of an unidentified bee (superfamily Apoidea). One of its large compound eyes is clearly seen here. Bees feed on the nectar and pollen produced by flowering plants. They are important pollinators of these plants, carrying pollen between them on their hairy bodies and back legs. Magnification: x40 at 6x7cm size.
