Green-veined white butterfly. High-speed photograph of a green veined white butterfly (Pieris napi) flying close to mauve flowers. The butterfly is named after its green stripes underneath its hind wings. The green-veined white is not dangerous to cabbage crops unlike other species of the Pieris genus. Instead the green veined white butterfly and its caterpillar feeds on herbaceous weeds.
