Caption

Emerging butterfly. Priam's birdwing butterfly (Troides aeacus) emerging from its chrysalis. Within the chrysalis the butterfly changed its body shape, a process known as metamorphosis, from that of a caterpillar to the adult form seen here. As it emerges, the butterfly pumps blood into its wings to expand them. These then dry out and harden. Photographed in Indonesia.
