Clearwing butterfly. Close-up of a clearwing butterfly (Ithomia sp.) resting on a leaf. This butterfly is known for its foul taste and toxicity, and are thus troubled little by predators. Their clear wings also provide effective camouflage. Due to their lack of predators, they are bold, congregating in large groups at roosting sites. Photographed in the Penas Blancas, Costa Rica.
