Cabbage white caterpillar. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a caterpillar (larva) of the cabbage white butterfly (Pieris sp.). The larva's numerous simple eyes (ocelli, olive green) are visible on either side of its head (upper left). Three pairs of legs are seen at lower left. Cabbage white caterpillars are agricultural pests that feed on cabbages and other members of the Brassica genus of plants. Magnification unknown.
