Hummingbird hawk moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) feeding on-the-wing. This large moth hovers, creating a humming sound, beside flowers upon which it feeds with an elongated proboscis. These factors give this moth its name. The hummingbird hawk moth is active during the day and resident in warmer climates of the northern hemisphere.
