Red starfish (Echinaster sepositus) on the seabed. The red starfish lives in coastal waters in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, preferring rocky areas. It moves using the hundreds of tube feet which line the underside of its five arms. Its mouth is at the centre of its body. Starfish mainly eat bivalve molluscs, whose shells they open by attaching one of their legs to each of the molluscs' two shells and pulling.
