Cushion starfish (Asterina gibbosa) exposed on rocks on the shore. This starfish has lost an arm, probably through predation. Starfish can drop arms that will regenerate over time. Starfish inhabit marine environments and are generalist predators. Cushion starfish reach no more than 5 centimetres in diameter.
