Sea urchin (Stylocidaris affinis). Sea urchins are echinoderms, relatives of the starfish. S. affinis possess a rigid body covered in numerous movable venomous spines, which protects it from predators. It feeds on algae and other organic material that is scraped from the surface of rocks. Photographed in the Mediterranean Sea.
