Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) dorsal fin. This sluggish shark inhabits the warm, shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region and is often found resting in caves or under coral ledges during the day. It feeds on other fish, octopuses and crustaceans, growing to 2.5 metres in length. It rarely attacks humans, but can be dangerous if threatened. Photographed off Sipadan, Malaysia.
