Giant manta and diver. A diver attempting to free a giant manta (Manta birostris) that has been tangled on a fishing line. The manta is the largest of the rays, reaching up to six metres from wingtip to wingtip and weighing up to 3 metric tons. It inhabits tropical seas throughout the world, preferring coastal waters to the open sea. It feeds mainly on plankton and small fish, which it filters from the water as it swims.
