Salema fish (Sarpa salpa). These fish are found in rocky and sandy areas, grazing on algae that grow on the rocks and sand. The young are carnivorous, feeding on crustaceans. S. salpa can reach lengths of 51 centimetres. They live in subtropical waters in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea. Photographed off Levant Island, France, in the north-western Mediterranean Sea.
