Vermillion rockfish (Sebastes miniatus). This fish inhabits the temperate and subtropical waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean, from Canada to Mexico. It feeds on smaller fish, crustaceans and cephalopods (such as octopus and squid). It may reach a length of up to 90 centimetres. It is prized by anglers as a sport fish, and is also highly regarded for its flesh.
